I remember my English teacher saying that in the 1348 people were buried alive since they didn't know if they were alive. Since there was a disease spreading in Europe. In addition the disease did spread since people that were in Europe were leaving since they didn't want to get the disease even though they had it either way. The disease did spread. People were usually thrown in the street if they had the disease, some were buried without even knowing they were alive. So yeah there's a chance it could have happened in Tennessee.
