Under normal circumstances a human would be mentally and physically exhausted. Extreme anxiety may cause this, but very, and I mean very rarely, can anxiety keep a person up for more then 24 hours, Yes humans can stay up for approximately 48 hours, but I highly recommend you go to your doctor. This could be serious, permanent, or possibly life-threating. As your may have ruptured a part of your brain that functions emotions and anxiety.

Find some music that you find soothing on you tube. I use the meditation, and rain forest sounds. There are plenty of them there. They usually work for me. My sleeping patterns are terrible. The longest I've been awake is 44.5 hours. Felt terrible, but couldn't sleep. Also, you may want to ask your Dr. about taking melatonin, it's the hormone that helps you sleep. If you're not producing enough of it, you may need a supplement of it.
Try this one on you tube, I use it quite often, it's very relaxing. Just search, "Guided Sleep Meditation Talk Down," by, "The Honest Guys." It's 29 minutes long. Be sure to keep your eyes closed, and turn your monitor off. Works great for me, hope it helps you.
