Why is it that every time I walk into a room I can't remember what I came in there for?

it's not every single time, but very often. Does this happen to anyone else, and why? :)

Oh yeah, I do it at least twice a week. It's so silly I walk into the kitchen and stand there looking around wondering why I came in there in the first place. Usually I spot what I was looking for but there are times when I don't. Don't feel bad. You are not alone.

You mean I am not the only one?!?!.....I have come to the conclusion that when you enter a different room, your thoughts take on a entirely different view, and the thoughts you had, stay with the room you left. Like entering a " different world"

Some experimental psychologist believe your memory context changes when you walk through a door. It doesn't even have to be a real door. Even walking through a door way on a computer screen can trigger the effect. Check out the following. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=why-walking-through-doorway-makes-you-forget

It just means you are easily distracted. There is nothing wrong with you. It happens to every one more or less. Practice focusing on one task at a time and blocking out distractions.

It means that you walked in and there was an alien in there so the Men In Black had to erase your memory of it.
