How to keep an English Bulldog from getting overheated
I have a 5 month old English Bulldog, who just LOVES being in our backyard. When I let him outside he goes to the bathroom, and will then basically lay there and sunbathe for as long as I let him. My dad is worried he will get sunburned (he's solid white). He's so stubborn that when I go to pick him up, he goes limp like toddler during a temper tantrum, (he loves being outside that much). He's already more than 30 pounds and I can barely pick him up anymore. It's usually 85 degree's by nine in the morning, and 100 by noon.
Is there anything I can do to keep him from getting burned or over heated while letting him stay outside? I've learned from my dad's past English Bulldogs that they get over heated quickly.
