Unknown mass of glass. place glass in 5.36 mL of water in grad cyl. vol now 7.87 mL. d=glass is 3.1 g/mL. the mass in g?

Top find the mass in grams use the density formula and then substitute the values. The formula for density is M/V. Therefore the formula for mass is DV. The answer that you will get is 7.781g. Make sure to subtract the volume of the water from that of the glass and water combined.

So, you know that the glass took up 2.51 cubic centimeters of volume and you know that each cc has 3.1 grams of mass. The rest should be obvious.
