Harry Potter, greatest fantasy book of all time. But if you are looking for dystopia type book Life As We Knew It is great, by Susan Beth Pfeffer. Oh, and another great one is Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children.

The Night Circus, it's a little more obscure. But the way it's written is just amazing. I honestly think it's one of the best books I've ever read.

Well other than the obvious answer of Harry Potter, if you're looking for a classic pick up Bram Stoker's Dracula. Fantastic book.

Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion series is old school fantasy at it's best. In various incarnations, the champion exists in various places and times in the multiverse. All genres of fantasy- dark, heroic, fantasy tech, future fantasy, sword and sorcery are represented in the multiverse.

You don't know life if you haven't read the 'Pendragon Series' by D.J. MacHale.

It's not really fantasy as in magical beasts or fantastical creatures; it contains more of shape-shifting, magic, time-travel, and spiritual powers.

I really recommend it. It's action-packed and fast paced. The best series so far I have read.

the Bible as Fantasy, interesting point of view. I'm not sure who's more pathetic Sheshoo or those of us that feel complelled to answer a child obsessed with Dwarf hamsters
Report as
The bible isn't a fantasy... The big bang theory is though look for some books about how we came from apes to those r really bad fantasies.

I'm confused..... @joeshmo... and @tannabelle539: if there's a book, that depicts people and events that can not be proven to be real, it's a fantasy/fiction..

I'd also put the bible under the scifi categorie too...

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss is the most amazing book I've ever read. A little crude, but other than that it's wonderful. Highly recommend.

First off, when did you try reading Lord of the Rings? If it's been a few years, maybe you want to try again. It really is a fabulous series.

However, another truly excellent series is the BelGariad by David Eddings (a series of five books: Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, Magician's Gambit, Castle of Wizardry, and Enchanter's End Game). This was followed by the Mallorean (another series of five: Guardians of the West,
King of the Murgos, Demon Lord of Karanda, Sorceress of Darshiva, The Seeress of Kell). Mr. Eddings also wrote two Prequels: Belgarath the Sorcerer; Polgara the Sorceress.

Start with the Belgariad . . . you'll love it!

Right so people have said some great series, but if you want something different, across the nightingale floor series is pretty amazing, to me that is. It's not got the mystical creatures and beast aspect, more human with supernatural abilities, with an interesting plot and characters you can't help but care about. I love it, you should try it. I'm not sure if it really fits into the teen or YA category though

I like books on Wattpad.com . People write their own stories and post them. Warning tho, not all of them are completed and some of them are really bad... sorry don't want to be mean but it's true. Anyways you could always take an online quiz on it too :3 that's what I do when I'm looking for something new to read. But I liked Hunger Games, Twilight, and the Shiver series. :)
