Well I used to "fast" when I was struggling with a eating disorder, but no fasting really does not help. Your body needs nutrients in order for it to work correctly. The only time I fast now is during Lent. You may get frustrated with your weight loss but please eat the right foods and just at minimum walk for 30 minutes a day. Don't go down the path I did. It's a long way back.
no it's not, trust me. be happy with your body, don't starve or fasten. there's been many cases which someone drinks to much water, to loose weight.. they die. too much water is bad! just exercise & eat healthy!
Fasting is useful as a spiritual discipline, but it's really not effective as a weight loss technique. Your body knows that it's not being fed so it goes into conservation mode and works to NOT burn calories. There's really no magic trick to losing weight. It takes time, effort, and self-control. Fewer calories going in, more calories going out.
A lot of people actually gain weight during periods of extended fasts. Plus you will have low energy and be irritable. The thing to do are simple exercises like running and jumping-jacks, and eat regularly but only until your not hungry anymore. Don't eat after 6 pm and that's it you will get there.
well, when I was 210 lbs. I am a 5.7" tall guy so I was obese by medical terms. Anyway. I was eating Macdonald and burger king, panda express....anyway you get the picture, sometimes 3 times a day!. I went to the gym and on my free training consultation the trainer recommended me to go to a nutritionist. I did. I lost so much weight because I learned to eat every 2 hours small portions. I was like, wow, if I eat all day long I am going to get fatter, but not. Good eating habits include every two hours eating. For example. Today when I woke up I ate a cup of cereal, a cup of almond milk and half a banana. 2 hrs later I ate a peeled cucumber with lemon (a cup size), then for lunch I had grilled chicken with garbanzo beans, spinach,
No it's not healthy. There are far better ways to lose weight. Starving yourself will just screw with your insides. I'm assuming you're young, so trust me the last thing you wanna do is weaken your heart.
Fasting can be very dangerous if not done right and with help. To lose weight I would not recommend it. The danger factor is way to high. a good rule to live by, no matter what weight you are, is eat 5 smaller healthy meals a day, instead of 3 large proportions. Good snacks are carrots because they are filling and healthy. I personally hate celery, but eating it is great for weight loss because consuming it actually burns calories because it is so hard to digest. Plus, in order to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight, the less change is the better. Eat healthy and small, and exercise every day for 30 minutes or more. This way, once you have lost your weight, you wont return to old habits and gain it back again. Just keep this way for the rest of your life and you will be healthy and fit.
