I washed my dog in Bleach to get rid of his fleas. Will he die?

He's a fluffy dog, small and his coat is like a light brown color. I've read online that his hair color will change but I also read that he could have skin problems and I'm scared. I'm stupid because I looked up all this stuff after washing him in bleach. Help?

The dog will not necessarily die. However, it can suffer harmful effects on its skin because of the bleach. It is advisable to take the dog to the vet immediately for a check up in order to prevent harmful effects.

Wouldn't that have burned him!?!? Poor dog! Why would you use bleach?!? Dog shampoo can't be that expensive! I seen it at the 99 cents store! Take him to the vet.

Why in the world would use you something toxic like bleach on your dog when there are safe and more effective flea medications?

Rinse, rinse, rinse. The bleach can stick to his skin and burn him even after you're done. I would highly recommend that a vet take a look to be sure he's OK.

You need to take him to a vet and tell them what you did.

I may be young but I know that bleach is bad for them! My mom was cleaning the bathroom and said to keep our dog away from it so he couldn't smell it! I really hope your dog is okay :( :/

It am Praying you took this dog to a vet and told them what you did--- AND that they have PUT YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO BE-- if you do not care no more for that pup than that please give it to someone that does care. My Prayers are for this pup I Pray it will be ok. Maybe you need to take a bath in bleach oh and then lick yourself like pups do when they get wet and burned! If this offends you or anyone else reading this--- I PERSONALLY DO NOT CARE----
