How to have strong faith in God?

I know that with faith in God anything can be done but I find it hard to leave it all to him and I hate this. If there's anything in the bible that you would suggest please do.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. (the more you read that and or the Bible itself, the easier it will be to have Faith in him because of what you now know.

Hope is a condition for faith. Hope is "a positive unwavering expectation of good". Hope is for the mind (1 Thessalonians 5:8; Hebrews 6:19), an anchor for the soul. It keeps us in the place where we can believe, but it is not in itself "faith". Yet, without hope there are no "things hoped for", and therefore there cannot be faith.

Through faith we can know we have the answer to our prayer before we see anything change in the natural order (1 John 5:14,15). Jesus said, "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." (Mk 11:24). God expects us, even commands us, to believe that our petitions are answered by God AT THE MOMENT WE MAKE THEM. We must believe that the response is immediately sent WHEN we pray. Faith is like the confirmation slip in our hearts that the goods are on the way. We have that confirmation slip instantly from God. We sense it in our hearts. The manifestation of those goods, the answer received, comes later as long as we are patient and do not throw away our confidence. (Hebrews 10:35-39; Hebrews 6:12) Faith makes things possible, not easy!

Go read james 1:5

Find time to put God first and learn how to pray.

There are many great books. I'll comment names of some later.

I know Stormie o'martian has a good series "the power of a praying ____"

Second and this is hard, quit worrying about it. I found one way to not worry is I think of all God's brought me through already when I didn't see a way and He worked it out. Gods nature doesn't change.

Read your bible, read accounts of famous Christians who depend on God. Have strong Christians in your church pray for you and with you. Have them share their accounts of when they felt alone and didn't quite trust God but it worked out.

Remember the joy you felt when you first believed. Keep a journal of your worries, answered prayers and how He works in your life. Read it when you doubt. Talk to God about your unbelief. He knows anyway and He's the only one who can fix it. Read this verse.

Matthew 9:23-24

Do not question anything touching the subject of your faith. The more obedient, the more credulous and the more doubtless you are, the more faithful you would become.

Abandon logic, reason and self worth, just accept the story. Thinking about it too much makes it less credible.

Abandon logic ? Really? That doesn't make sense

Logic is the antithesis of faith, tricky to preserve one without compromising the other

Jesus is your faith. Believe in Him because He is your advocate and He never fails!

Beginning our journey of faith with God requires that we immerse ourselves in His Word (Titus 1:13-14). We must learn about His love, His justice, His mercy, and His plan. We must form a relationship with Him, so that we can know Him personally through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 17:3). We should ask Him to reveal Himself to us and change us. The Bible promises that if we seek God, we will find Him (Matthew 7:7). And if we allow Him to, He will transform us into new people who can know His will (Romans 12:2). We have to be willing to die to our old selves and let go of the pride and selfishness that kept us from Him for so long. As God changes us, we will learn to develop the fruit that comes from the Holy Spirit, who dwells in all Christians (Galatians 5:22-23; John 14:17). As we walk in the Spirit, allowing Him to control our lives, we will begin to trust in Him. "Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done" (Colossians 2:7). Read more: http://www.gotquestions.org/increase-my-faith.html#ixzz2aFmbTTjB

Faith is faith, its not magic and doesnt bedtow magic powers. That verse you quoted is one of the most miswuoted and misinterpreted and sadly misused verses in the Bibke. We can strengthen our faith by daily soeaking with God and studying His word but that had no bearing whatsoever on hiw much God will or wont do for us. Once we belong to Him we are all equally covered. Its nit like God says 'okay that one has stronger faith so im going to do more for him that that obe whose faith is floundering a bit'. It doesnt work that way. Faith is something we GIVE not something we build up expecting a return on the investment. Faith isnt an insurance policy or token for a heavenly slot machine or ticket for a heavenly lottery, its a our gift to God. You dont get more earthly stuff or extra chances at heaven with extra faith. If bad things happen its not because you dont have enough faith. Thats a human lie and misinterpretation - probably deliberate - of that passage. Many greedy, worldly people who call themselves Christians (esp in certain denomination) use this passage to justify their earthly greed and avarice, something they will one day answer fir.

Think of it this way - you are not your own you were bought with a price so you HAVE TO KNOW that you are not in control : Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 NIV) to grow in your faith your spirit and heart also need to be fed with the Bible - and I don't just mean this 'read 5ish verses 'closes Bible' ok I'm done now' - you need to spend time in the Bible here's what should happen 'read your Bible, spend time in it, stay, listen to the Holy Spirit, wait and then read over what you've already read - you will get more out of what your reading and you need to pray about what your reading before you read it - pray that you will understand it - pray continually, (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NIV) memorize Verses of the Bible - I'm 13 and I have been going to Church for as long as I can remember - and I have always been memorizing Verses in the Bible and when I'm answering these questions - a verse usually pops into my head - I spend the morning in my devotional book - that I love - and I enjoy my day but the one thing that I need to do is ask God "what do you want me to do" instead of making all the decisions for myself. you should spend time in prayer, and I would recommend looking at the 'The Power of Praying' series I really like mine it's helped me answer so many of these questions.
