Should teachers be able to talk about students grades in front of other students?

Last year I remember one of the teachers would constantly tell students they were behind on work and tell them how "lazy" they were in the middle of class. (He would never give us any lessons about what we were learning. Instead he kept telling us we had to do all of the research on our own and wouldn't help us with anything, as if it wasn't his job to teach us.) Other teachers did it as well, but not as much.

No.teachers aren't supposed to talk about anything that is personal about you in front of other students. They are supposed to keep that stuff confidential.I would talk to one of your school counselers or your principle.

It's hard to make judgement based on what you wrote. From my experience, there are good teachers, and not as good teachers and you have to learn how to deal with the not so good ones or you'll never graduate. That's what happened to me, I didn't graduate and gave up on school because of some lousy teachers. So just depend on yourself, not teacher.

No, I would bring this up with the principal. This isn't right, he/she should be encouraging you.

A good teacher should ask you if it is okay to talk about your grade in public. If not, he/she should respect that and speak about it in private. It is important to speak about it but it shouldn't be done in public if the student doesn't want it.
