I've learned that among our members we have a real-life Sasquatch and a woman who turns into an eagle when the moon is full. We also have at least three gypsies (who don't tell fortunes) and a few Wiccans who just might.
I've met a talking salad from California, a hippie who's older than God, a reincarnation of Merlin the magician, and a woman who is the mother of no less a historical personality than Nero.
I've also learned that our Mods are really a group of cyber-ninjas who, in the face of wide opposition, especially from the teens, wield their mystical power valiantly to keep us from tearing each others' throats out in the religion and politics questions.
But the very coolest? I've learned how ordinary Americans interact with each other in a way I couldn't otherwise have done without visiting your country. You're pretty cool.
Who Justin Beiber and One Direction are.. wait no, I am sure there were cooler things... that pandas are now considered to be bears instead of racoons and more about smart phones than I ever could have imagined. But seriously, I have learned a lot about people here, it is interesting to see how people of different ages and backgrounds think, act and react.
I have learned that I can grow attached to people whom I have never met in person and never heard their voice. I have learned that I could be addicted to something that never even goes in to my body! Lol!
I learned good people find each other! Some people are selfless. Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world, a city on the hill that can't be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Hope you understand what im saying. I've also learned that you can love people you never met in person. Yet you build a bond, and it's like you have known them your whole life.
I have learned that my kitty cat, Petey, can have a girlfriend that is a dog. (Sincerity's dog, the lovely Bella.) I have learned that I like to help people with math problems without getting paid for it. It's FUN! Go figure. I have learned that new friends turn up in unexpected places. I have learned a lot of things that I didn't ask questions about. I have learned that strangers can really care about people they don't know. I LOVE ASK!! What have you learned Cj?????
I guess what I learned from this site is there are some really nice people with some sound advice that want to help . They answer , dead on , no B.S which is helpful to the person asking . I've also learned that some of the younger people on are struggling with serious questions . The advice that are left by most people is good parenting advice . I also enjoy the cute / funny questions and answers , they can be very humorous at times .
I have learned that there are many people in this community that are willing to air their passion for their beliefs and willing to engage in meaningful discussion. There are also those ( mostly) who are supportive of those with serious issues and offer comfort if not help. I have learned that regardless of our differences we are mostly tolerant of the rights of others and many have become " family" . I am genuinely glad to have found this site and hopefully can make some meaningful contribution of my own!
