My laptop can't connect to the internet anywhere. Is there anything I can do?

My laptop can't connect to the internet anywhere and I'm not sure what's wrong. The routers and modems are working fine, it's just that my laptop says "Windows is unable to connect to (name of network)". My WLAN is on, and I'm positive I have the passwords correct. Is there anything I can do? It is a massive inconvenience. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if you cant get the cd or dont have it you can go to the start button and click control panel - hardware and sound - and then click device manager, look and find your wifi card try to update it and if it is the latest driver, it could have malfunction or installed wrong, you will have to go to the manufactures website and find there download page and make sure you get the right driver for your wlan card!!! this is very important!!! ok them go back to device manager and right click on your wlan card and click properties and click on the tab that says driver then click uninstall. then when its done click update driver and then if you downloaded the driver on a different computer put it on a usb and bring it over to your laptop that is not connecting to the internet. now go to where you uninstalled your driver and instead of clicking uninstall like you did earlier click update driver then click browse my computer for the driver and locate where you put the driver and then just update it and then it will work!!!
