The singularity is the origin of 'our' universe. The Big Bang is what inflated the singularity. No one knows where the singularity came from... only a few scenarios suggest its origin: Big Bounce, white/black hole, branes.
There is a great deal of different theories on the origin of the universe. One of them is the big bang, where every particle in the universe came together, which collapsed in on itself causing a massive release of energy that caused the 'explosion'. Other theories have different explanations, One of which suggests there is an opposite to gravity, a repulsive form instead of one that attracts. (This was mathematically proven by the lead physicist behind the theory of the multiverse). A force with enough power to expand something from the size of a molecule to the size of a galaxy in seconds. Though science has yet to pin down the precise cause, the big bang theory is widely accepted as the means of which the universe was created.
It's only logical to understand that the universe is the space where all things are suspended so if something happens even a big bag, it took place in space which has no beginning or ending it's always space.Nothing can occur without occupying an already existing place.
