Can a lefty play second base?
I am a left handed pitcher and center fielder. I am good at both positions because I have a strong arm. I am going to be a sophomore in high school next year. in middle school I would start at third base every single game for 2 years. Yesterday was our last game for our summer league and I asked to play second base. He was hesitant at first but then eventually let me play because our starting second base man had hurt his back. I had a really good game, I backhanded about 3 grounders, caught a pop fly, caught a runner stealing, and turned two double plays (one with me turning and another with me fielding). After that game I realized that I am better at 2nd than all the other right handed second baseman (except for the varsity starter). I know that it takes me extra time to throw to first but my arm makes up for the lost time. I want to be a second baseman because I don't really like center field. So should I keep working at second to get better and hopefully land a starting spot on my JV team or stick to center?
