I want to learn more about different religions. Not for class but just for my own personal knowledge. What is the best book for this?

Hi, Josh. Honey, there's a book entitled "One World, Many Religions: The Ways We Worship" by Mary Pope Osborne, that is rated 5 stars. You can find it on Amazon.com.

Since you didn't answer back, I thought I would say that people who say things about other people are just narrow minded and mean. I hear it, but don't make judgements by what other people say. Peace , and good luck !

I've found that most religions have at least one .org site ... sponsored by an "official" sect of that religion ... that has information about their religion.

Wikipedia is also a good starting point. Just make sure any article has documentation backing it up. Even follow links on those pages.

Unfortunately there really isn't a good comprehensive book that covers all religions :/ It usually comes down to reading *many* books, websites, and other sources to truly get a grasp on what each religion believes and how they practice those beliefs.

to learn more about different religions, read the various books that are within them, if you want to learn about Catholicism and it's teachings, read the Catechism of the Catholic Church. If you want to learn about the 46,000 different protestant christian religions, you would read their individual writings, for instance, learning about Mormonism, you would read the Book of Mormon, and learning about Lutheranism, you would look at Martin Luther's various writings. If you want to learn about Islam, read the Koran and the Hadiths. Those are the basics of learning about different religions, you'll pick the rest up as you go.

I agree with Alexlutz and Jerusalem07,
we have good reason to consider what the Bible says. ( 2 Timothy 3:16) " The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right." Living Bible Please don't blame God what is happening with you. We need faith an knowledge
to be able to please God. Here is what the a bible days that will occur in the end of times. " You may as well know this too, Timothy, that in the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian. For people will love only themselves and their money; they will be proud and boastful, snaring at God, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful to them, and thoroughly bad. They will be hardheaded and never give in to others; they will be constant liars and troublemakers and will think nothing of immorality. They will be rough and cruel, and sneer at those who try to be good. They will betray their friends; they will be hotheaded, puffed up with pride, and prefer good times to worshipping God. They will go to church, yes, but they won't really believe anything they hear. Don't be taken in by people like that." (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Living Bible. If we follow what Jesus taught, we will never be misguided. Please read your Bible,
it does have all the answers. Examine for your self what does the Bible Really teach. Answer for person that asked the question.
