Get a dog! They make great burglar alarms :)

If you know it's not being broken into then why are you scared

Maybe getting a firearm will give you peace of mind. You could take a training course of some sort.
And an Alarm system, something like ADT, will also help you out. Hope I helped :) God bless & take care

Dont worry! you can always put up camreas or even own a dog thats pretty fierce. Just dont be scared or anything and its really unlikely for that to happen when you live in a safe community. If you feel that someones stalking you then create some more privacy and maybe even confront them

If you can, get a security system. If not, logically assess your home from the viewpoint of someone trying to break in... and do everything you can to prevent that. It's not unreasonable to feel unsafe, because we live in a crazy, unpredictable world... but by doing everything you can to prevent break-ins, you will feel more empowered and thus safer. Know that by living in the back of the community (the exact reason I chose my homestead) you are much safer than your neighbors who live closer to main thoroughfares, since criminals really don't want to be caught entering or leaving the area. Also... a baseball bat under the bed may make you feel a bit braver. Even though I personally keep firearms, I don't recommend it for someone unfamiliar with them... there's too much chance for the intruder to get to it before you do or to get it away from you.

thanks, this really helped me. im only 14 and i have a small dog that i know would bark, but i dont know why this feeling just is always with me at night. ive done the bat thing before, and im trying to convince my parents to get a german shepard or let me get pepper spray or a taser. thanks so much though.

not a taser like a cheap stun gun(like $20 onlin)

I really want a taser too, lol. Pepper spray is cheap enough. Also, keep your phone near you at night... that way you will know that you can call if your dog barks at someone and you need to call 911.

I'd get a pit bull an alarm a big knife ,pepper spray, ninja stars. Traps. A sling shot. a sword some karate lessons or some fencing would do too!

But if you live in the USA you're just gonna have to get a gun because that's the only way Americans know how to defend themselves ..

thats what i want! how would i convince my parents to let me?

Do some research on German Shepard's, make a power point to show to your parents why you want the dog and how you would train it your self. Put all the good information about German Shepard's on your presentation. Tell them about how police use them and what great watch dogs they are.

Pray. There is a great scripture-psalm 4:8. "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety". Write it down and place it next to your bed . Memorize it and when you are scared, repeat it in your head.

Keep a pocket knife in your dresser and get a security system.
