What is the meaning of a full moon ? What happens on a fool moon? Why do people believe in it ?

I know that people do act differently when there is a full moon first hand. I use to work in a nursing home and group homes for people with physical and mental handicaps.. During the few days prior the residents mood starts to change... the day of the full moon its like all h*ll breaks loose. No joke. There are also times that my animals will start to act in a different manner during this. Its so crazy how our body reacts with the earth and its pulls... There is also a disorder known as Sundowner’s Syndrome. Sundowner’s Syndrome is the name given to an ailment that causes symptoms of confusion after “sundown.”

A full moon is the phase of the moon in which its whole disk is illuminated; when the entire moon is all lit up. Nothing unusual happens on a full moon although legends suggest that human beings change into werewolves by the light of the Full Moon. http://www.moonlightsys.com/themoon/legends.html has more beliefs and legends on the full moon.
