Home remedies for killing a mouse

Do sticky traps work? I've had ZERO success with the spring traps. I even crushed a 1mg dose of Ativan and wrapped a the powder inside cheese. It ate it all, but must slept well, because I just heard him/her behind my bookcase. I know I sound like a baby... It's just a little house mouse... BUT I DON'T LIKE IT!! Thanks everyone for reading this and I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions!

dCon pellets do work, put them in areas where mice might hide (under cabinets, behind furniture, etc.).

Also, the traditional spring traps do work with a little assistance . . . I have had great success tying a small piece of cheese on with dental floss to prevent mice eating without setting off the trap, then putting little peanut butter on top. Perhaps you're not placing the traps correctly . . . mice run along the walls (they rarely cut across open spaces if they can avoid it). Play the traps right up against the wall in an area where mice have been seen, food side next to the wall. If you have mice, the traps will get them.

I believed that guff that if you build a better mouse trap the world will beat a path to your door, so I made a humanitarian mousetrap.

It has two arms, spring loaded, with a cupped hand on each end. One cupped hand lies on the floor while the other is vertical.

You put your cheese on the bottom hand and, when the mouse climbs aboard to eat it, his weight is sufficient to spring the mechanism, causing the hands to clap together, imprisoning him.

It's called a claptrap.

Or a guillotine if he moves just a little to slow.

Nice . . . if you made they flat, would you call them slapstick?
Report as
Maybe slapstick would have sold better. Mouse hunters LOVE the sight of blood.

My suggestion...you can either feed the mouse with poison drops 3x a day for 1 week, or, use lethal injection.

My grandma's advice: Starve them.
Report as
But then, Robbie Burns thought starving them was being miserly.

He put it this way,
"A daimen icker in a thrave 'S a sma' request;
I'll get a blessin wi' the lave, An' never miss't."

Or, more simply, There's plenty for both of us.

Yep. Stickys work good. They actually suffocate the mouse slowly. They take smaller and smaller breathes as they stick deeper and deeper into the trap. I like better than poison because you can dispose of the dead body instead of it crawling off and dying where you can't find it.

All for it! Going to buy the traps tomorrow morning!!

Don't touch the sticky part!!!!! It's nasty and VERY hard to get off. I'm surprised PETA has got them banned for being cruel.

Take a plastic bucket fill it a third of the way with water then sprinkle the water with corn meal mice go in and drown
