Did you meet her through online dating or through chatting with each other online? There's a huge difference.
If it was online dating (like Match.com or something), then I would say go for it.
But if you met her through chatting or instant-messaging...well, that's a little risky.
Have you ever seen that show CATFISH on MTV? It's where a team hunts down people on the Internet to see if they're really who they say they are. I suggest watching it; it might give you some insight of how online relationships work.
Most of the time, the person you're chatting with isn't who they say they are. 99% of the time, they're lying or hiding something. Maybe the girl you're chatting to isn't a nurse at all. Heck, she might not even be a girl. Unless she's given you some kind of proof, you really shouldn't believe anything she says.
Could the relationship work out? Possibly, but it's not likely.
Whether it can work out or not may depend on what you feel about the whole issue and whether you are ready tolerate her long working hours. If you are committed to her and are willing to start a relationship, then everything can work out well.
One of my best buddies is dating & recently engaged to a nurse. Yeah, she works a lot of overtime too; but she MAKES the time to spend with her man. This gal you've met online isn't making any attempt to even meet you. Blow her off & move on. Better luck next time.
