Can a domestic violence misdemeanor ruin your life?

I would be more concerned with what is going on within yourself that would result in such a charge. It is likely you will incur future charges should you fail to examine the cause of your violence and seek help for same. Good luck with this.

Domestic violence is not a misdemeanor crime as it is the leading cause of death in America and the prosecution of domestic violence is given the highest priority in the office of the Clark county prosecuting attorney.

Yeah I was convicted of a dv misdemeanor in california.

if you are convicted of a D.V.O you can never process a firearm ! a violation of one can be a felony ! and it dont look good on your record !
