Why was it differcult for polish immigrants to fit into american society

Report as

Every ethnic group has experienced some difficulty when first coming into the U S, not just the Poles. For instance, Chinese were used as forced labor to build railroads, Irish , Italians were only given menial work and treated very poorly . It was at some time , evidently some sort of a " rite of passage" that many endured.

I wasn't aware that it was. Where are you getting your information? You are generalizing two entire groups of people.

Ask yourself if it would be easy for you, an American, to fit in with the Polish. I think it would take time to adjust to a different country and their customs

I suppose for the same reason all of us who came from somewhere couldn't (or wouldn't!) fit into the American Indians society!...;-)
