How many people are murdered in the us in a day

There are approximately 45 murders committed in the United States every day. If you divide the total number of death as a result of murder and non-negligent manslaughter every year in the US, which is 17,034 according to the FBI, by 365 days, you arrive at roughly 45 a day.
