It's text lingo, easier to type. This is the world we live in. All you can do is raise your own kid's to not be like that.

exactly

yes we are!

I do not think it is always a matter of people being lazy, many people simply do not know how to spell. They also do not know the difference between there, they're and their. Another common mistake is using your when you mean you're. These are TWO examples that are TOO easy TO make if you are not educated in proper grammar and spelling.

Ignorance has become cool these days. I guess that makes me a loser for knowing proper grammar. So be it, I could care less.

You could care less or you couldn't care less? I am just saying.

I could care less.

Haha in that case I'd rather be a loser right there with you than to speak *cool talk*.

I think it's because they're trying to type phonetically. I have to admit, I use *gonna* and *wanna* ... but what drives me nuts is when people say WAS instead of WERE and DON'T instead of DOESN'T etc etc.

The way people use *there, their and they're* is enough to make your head explode! Then there's *your and you're* haha

quot;Datquot; is a very New Orleans or Cajun thing. Where #039;th#039; is replaced with #039;d/f#039; depending on the word. I think some just think its cool but I also believe schools are not focusing on proper sounding out of words or penmanship anymore.

I think people just get lazy , also a lot of kids talk that way its slang .

Just because kids use abbreviations it doesn't necessarily mean that they are lazy. Everyone needs to stop blaming everything on laziness. If you think that there is a problem, go fix it yourself.
Report as
not all of is think its just laziness. i asked because sometimes i have to read it 10 times to understand it.

Well take Mark Twain for example, he thought that you should be able to spell which ever way you want. Incorrect spelling doesn't make you any worse of a person. Mark Twain was an amazing author, and I believe in what he has to say. Dis conversashun is ova.

Takes a shorter amount of time. People are too lazy to type 3 more letters a word. It originally started when in texts you had to pay the bill by letter so people used less letters

the same thing that happened to cursive handwriting...its gone..just like the flinstones and their stone tires

Helpful (1) Fun Thanks for voting Comments (1)
Report as
I think that's because cursive takes longer and is really hard to read, plus it's not required to practice in a lot of schools
