If your school has a "locker day" or some sort of orientation day before school, DO IT!
First, go to your locker and practice opening the combination at least 3 times in a row with no mistakes.
Then find each classroom in order of your schedule so you know where to go after each class and how long it will take you. That way you will know which books to bring with you and when you will have time to go to your locker to get a new batch of books.
I also highly suspect you will also need to learn which passing periods you need to get to a class quickly and when you can stop and chat with your friends in the hallway. I have never heard of an Ashley who didn't like to chat.
Stay clear of the 8 th graders. jk Choose your friends wisely. Have all your materials. Check everything before you leave in the morning. Be polite to everyone. Do your homework. Listen in class don't talk. Don't ever bully anyone. If you bring your lunch, no plastic knife. Be friendly, smile and don't fiddle around in the bathroom. Raise your hand, don't yell out. Yes, I taught 7 th grade.
