How much protein should I eat per day if I am trying to lose weight? I am 18 years old, female, 156 pounds and 5'7" .

I am trying to lose 20 pounds in about 3-4 months, which is risky I know. but how much protein should I be eating to achieve this goal, as I am a vegan and alot of our food is packed with protein. thank you!

At your age you need 70 grams of whole protein everyday. Most Veggies don't have that much of protein. So you need to balance different kinds of veggies to keep your protein supply to the requirement. To lose weight you have to eat a good breakfast and consume 60 % of your protein requirement in the morning. Most people think that by missing breakfast we will lose weight but its the other way round. Cut down on carbohydrates. do not try to starve yourself. Cut down on the tendency to consume sugar. Remember protein doesn't add to weight its other things. Best Of Luck.

If you trying to loose weight stay of the protein powder. Get your protein from chicken or tuna that's by far the protein out there.
