Why do people get dizzy when they go around in circles to many times?

Report as

The reason why people get dizzy when they go around in circles to many times is because the ears send wrong messages to the brain during this time. The motions of our bodies are detected by the vestibular system found in the upper part of our inner ear. Hair nerve cells in the brain send wrong messages to the brain making it think that the head is still spinning although it actually has stopped.

That is what i learned in science class so when I spin in circles I plug my ears with my hand!!

That doesn't matter. It's not sound or air based. It's gravity and centrifugal force - the same reason astronauts get "space sick".
