My friend thinks this may be a dog disease?

So, my friend's dog is a Pomeranian mixed with chihuahua. He is not a puppy anymore, and every since he WAS a puppy, he has had this problem whenever comes to the door, the dog pees or "Piddles" on the floor or even the guest. Would this be classified as abnormal urination patterns? I know it sounds normal for a puppy, but like i said he is not a puppy and he is not scared of really anything. Thanks, i was just curious.

Its not a disease. It may be a nervous anxiety disorder. Both poms and chis are high strung little creatures. This dog seems to have developed a conditioned response for whatever reason that causes it to pee at the door rather than outside it. Chis are also very territorial so peeing on a guest may be its way of 'marking' or defending its territory from an 'intruder'.

actually it is fairly common with higher strung breeds and can happen with any breed. They simply become so exited they lose control of their bladders. Sometimes you can teach the dog to be calm when visitors arrive and this will stop the urination but it takes a lot of time, patience and training to teach this.
