What is the best way to potty train a puppy

we Have a new puppy, we've had it for a week and we've gotten nowhere with potty training and I was wondering if there's any certain techniques or ways that really work. I will try anything that is I guess if its humane so please help me.

First, please be aware that accidents are likely to happen up until the puppy is about 4 months old; they can't entirely control their bladder until that age. Second, keep a supply of paper towel and white vinegar on hand to clean up the accidents.
Offer puppy frequent opportunities (first thing in the morning, after every meal, after every play time, last thing at night) to go potties outside. If necessary, get up during the night to take puppy outside. Praise with a "good dog" although you don't have to go overboard. If you're not using a crate to confine the puppy when you're away during the day, you might want to consider it.
Do not punish puppy when accidents happen. It won't result in better behavior. Learn your puppy's cues for when he/she has to go outside. I have one dog that will pace some and pant; the other runs around the house like a crazy thing, stopping at the door to see if I've noticed. Be patient and consistent; you'll get there but it's going to take some time.
If you haven't already, talk to your vet to make sure puppy is healthy and there's no health issue causing urinary problems.

Well if you are potty training him for outside just walk him around till he uses it and either reward or praise him ..Or if you potty train him inside, whenever he starts to use it take him over to the dog pads and after he uses it reward or praise him

You take them outside and you can teach them like a phrase like " pee time" and every time you say that eventually they will catch on and they will put it together that pee time means bathroom outside lol if that makes sense!!! It worked with all dogs iv had and a cat

I would take them outside as soon as they wake up every time. Also after they eat or if they drink a lot. You should also set a timer and take them out about every hour. When they do go inside you should bring them over so they see what they did and tell them no/discipline it however you do and put it in a kennel if you use or away somewhere so it knows it did something bad.

i had two doberman poopys...hehe! [puppies] and the best way to potty train was using a crate....just remember what goes in will come out....every time your puppy eats...take it out to go potty. the first comment on your post is excellent to follow....i couldnt word it any better than that...also getting puppy trainning books are very helpful too....your fur buddy will also like to chew on things....which i call it the teething stage....so you must baby proof your home....teach good habbits in the beginning and you wont have a nightmare later on as your puppy grows..
