controversal response here's the thing about music; its expressive, its free, its the only thing left in this world where your mind can be spoken positively or negatively without the governemt interfering. music is influential is you CHOOSE it to be. you choose to follow their "ways" or "clan". it doesn't mean if you listen to a peculiar artist or genre, that you are good or bad or following their music & doing what they say. how many people listened to ICP? did it mean everyone that did were flows & were out to be crazy? no, people loved their beat or lyrics too. point of the matter is even if you listen to the holiest of holy, it doesn't mean that you're perfect; music doesn't decide a persons value. its an interest that you choose to let define you or not.
If it's going against God, then you don't need to be listening to them. I don't know the band, but either you are for God or against God. YOU CAN'T STRADDLE THE FENCE, you will fall one way or the other. Keep God in you heart, don't ever give up!!!
There are likely going to be many challenges during your life. There will be part of you that intrigued about something that you know goes against what GOD wants for you. It's up to you to decide which way to go. Just remember living with those things and continuing to not make a decision about what you should do about, is in fact making a decision.
If someone has strong faith values, then listening to music, reading books, watching movies, etc., does not mean that the person has lost their beliefs. People can experience everything this big, amazing world has to offer. It does not make them a bad person or a person no longer faithful. What it does make them is aware! That is not a bad thing.
Ugh. My wife suddenly became convinced that she needed to listen only to these Christian music radio stations in order to be pleasing to her Heavenly Father. But the music is terrible. I say, music is one of the most wonderful parts of being alive. Please don't let religion take that away too! And if a God wants to take away your favorite songs, maybe that's not a God worth having...
