How do I get rid of a bad sunburn?

I was at a island and I didn't put sunscreen on and now I'm burnt and I want to get rid of it as fast as I can cause I'm going to camp tomorrow?

Use aloe vera, bath in WARM water with vinegar, this hurts like a mother but it pulls the sunburn out of your skin!

Linxy nails it! The bath might hurt like the bejeezus, but it **will** work. The aloe comes after the bath, though, just to be clear...and slather it on like you butter toast, baby!

Helipo

You wait. What the heck, you live in real world, or what? You aren't going to cure it in one day.

Put a lot of Aloe Vera on it. It'll still take a little bit for it to go away, but if you use it enough it'll work faster than doing nothing. And it'll help soothe the burning sensation. :)

All the above and stay out of the sun. There is no quick fix, which is what you seem to want.

Wait it out and avoid the sun. Some lotions ease the pain and keep your skin hydrated, but time is the key to healing.

Fresh Aloe Vera leaf. I worked ten hours in the direct sun. Cut open a Aloe leaf. put it all over my burnt spot, and did not even peel. Gotta be a good healthy plant I guess. But it really worked for me. Seen it used in welding shops for spark burns too.

This isn't a way to get rid of it but it is a way to sooth it. If you poor milk in a cool (no necessarily cold) bath, it should help sooth it.

Using cold aloe vera will relieve the burn, but it won't make it go away. Also, putting cold ice milk on your skin, taking a cold shower, or putting some ice packs on your back will help relieve the burn. Good luck. :-)

Gaviscon chewable ant-acids. Recommended to me by an emergency room nurse. The ONLY thing I've ever had relief. I once read in a home-remedy book to take 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Supposedly this will cause the stomach to release some sort of reactive enzymes to neutralize the acid. I haven't yet been in enough discomfort to try the vinegar cure!

I know it sounds gross, but tooth paste ! my grandmother said she used to put it on her sun burns and it used to take the stinging and stop the cause of peeling.

This would be a little bit strange but best one is Yoghurt. It relaxes you, takes the pain of sunburn and also heals the skin quickly.
