If you had a pulmonary embolism what are the odds of having another?

Report as

The odds of getting another pulmonary embolism are higher if you already had an attack in the past. However, medical experts argue that long-term anticoagulation can prevent the recurrence of pulmonary embolism. It's important to have a talk with your doctor and find out the best way to handle the condition.

A clot in the leg or DVT and pulmonary embolism are risk factors for both regardless of the initial cause. One with past such illness are more likely than those who never had. The odd in figures is tricky.
