You can try to imitate other singers who has considerably higher or deeper tone than you. That would help you discover your octave limits. There is a lot different kind of positions in music world as a vocalist; but if your dream is to be a lead singer the most important thing to find out would be the character of your voice. Of course including tone; all the qualities that makes a vocalist who she/he is. And for that you need to get people's opinion. If you want people to listen to you, you need to find the spirit that is appealing to your audience. Whoever you would like to relate yourself to. Your singing has to get to them. If you are open for that, you can refine yourself much quicker. For that; look at yourself, your personality. What kind of voice could present who you are correctly? Which songs? And how to sing them, in what fashion?
i used to only be able to sing like out my throat but during the summer i had to sing i will always love u and because u have to really sing l;oud and stuff that's what i did and now i sing better then i even did before. so maybe u should try that oh and sing with a text book on your stomach and it helps ur breath supply
I like what quest4quest said above, also stretch but do not strain as with any muscles and mind posture as in do not tilt your head up for higher notes, etc. Many have mentioned lessons - check youtube and keep smiling!
Would you believe that laying on your back encourages your lungs to fill up more and can give you more control over those grace notes. Once you've got the feeling for all the notes it's easier to recall the physical aspects when you are standing up. Also, singing in a hot shower is a great way to practice and warm up. The vocal cords are more pliable and it will result in less strain. Try to MIMIC other vocalists to understand where your range is. Good singing to you!!
Sorry to tell you, while some feel voice lessons are not necessary, the only RELIABLE way to really sing to the best of one's ability is by STUDY--the natural voice may impress, but the moment the least problem arises the little singer's flame, like that of a candle, is quickly quenched, and many cannot find their way back after an ailment--a competent teacher and coach can help.
PRACTICE TRAIN TRY TRY TRY AND,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, TRY AGAIN!!! THE only WAY [sorry caps] to get better is to practice and DONT listen what they say, you can ONLY get BETTER if you try!! HOPE YOU GET BETTER!!
humming will strengthen your vocal cords, really! and to be able to sing a song that you think might be out of your range and not sound right; I have learned to make the song fit my voice rather than make my voice fit the song. The closer you keep a song to your natural speaking voice, the better it will sound. True story.
do u remember the movie the sound of music? there she shows the children how to exercise their voices then when they did and it was time for them to perform they were just beautiful also singing the alphabet works wonders also watching the wedding singer helped me a lot Robbie(Adam Sandler) worked with his pupil also the school of my children helped me when i went and talked to their music teachers there always is someone or something that would always be willing to share or guide you to where u don't have to spend a fortune taking lessons u can do it all by yourself and feel better that u were the one getting to the top of your note and improving your voice all by yourself. happy singing.
I can sing extremely well at wide range of tones .The only problem is my breathing and raising the tempo at a steady pace and i am sortve shy to reveal it to people around me .If its more of the lines of a vocal problem then you need to train your voice and it requires you to sing sing sing as much as possible. Start by singing the national anthem then start singing a song that you like constantly dilate the song to your voice. If it a breathing problem like me you need to place book on your diaphragm and keep breathing.Furthermore exercise and a healthier body helps you control your breathing better. Some people even have a natural auto tune voice :D
The more you sing and warm up you're voice the better it is. Even people like Little Mix do it before a consent. There are also range improvement exercises. Personally I think you should do singing lessons you just need a teacher who understands what you like. I'm better because of lessons without it I'd be horrible.
The best thing to do is practice your singing at home. Also, you can find a singing teacher and get lessons from him/her. Then, record your voice and see how it sounds. Don't feel bad if your singing voice doesn't sound exactly like a celebrity singer's voice, everyone's voice is different.
1. Practice breathing from your diaphragm. 2. Do scales repeatedly. (It doesn't matter if you're not great at first, you will get better.) 3. Have someone who is a better singer than you sing along with you. (Or just sing along to musicals and such.) 4. When its early in the morning or late at night and you want to practice but not sing, hum. (Hum whichever note you choose then go into an "ahhh") 5. Practice a lot, but if your voice starts to hurt stop. If you keep going it will hurt more. 6. Practice pronouncing words correctly.
Other things: Don't have any dairy products before you sing. Don't whisper. Ever. It's like sand paper to your vocal chords. Always stand straight up with your hands at your sides when you sing. Makes for better air flow. Don't give up no matter what.
