do you think beautiful women are being prejudiced by others?

how so??!

Report as

Yes. A lot of times jealousy causes others to try to find faults in other people (women *cough cough*)

Depends on the woman herself actually... and her attitude.

I don't know. Seems everyone has an opinion of each other. Some women most likely are, while others are not.

Yes, and it is usually other women's insecurities that cause the prejudice. It takes a beautiful, secure woman to admit there is beauty in another.

Yes. I think there is a label for many "looks." Which makes "nerds," nerds, "beautiful people," beautiful people, and so on. I don't think they are singled out as an individual. I do think they are categorized. Ex: The commercial. "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful."

Thanks for always standing by my side Dodgy. Sometimes, it the big things, like your kindness toward me, that make a whole lot of difference! :)
On that note, yes, it does have a tendency to get in the way. Jealousy and envy. I get those two confused. Are they one in the same? I'm to understand, it you are jealous of someone, you want to take it away from them. If you are envious of someone, you wish they had what you don't. Is this right? ....

if not it.. sorry.

less attractive people would not be average would it?

How have I prejudiced her?
Report as
blades, how I gather your input is: who says she is beautiful and she is not? Who sets the standard of beautiful.
Helipo~ with my understanding of blades contribution, no one "should be" judged. We get into the "would of," "should of," "could of," These are traps we all set. I am as guilty as the next. I "should of" put on lipstick, I "would of" never left without it. I "could of" done so if I wasn't already running late.
I'm not defending or protecting anyone. I am saying there are certain standards that society places on "why" someone may look beautiful. :) It is all a matter of opinion. :)

In one way i've seen in the news recently a beautiful woman was fired from her job because her boss's wife thought she was too beautiful. So she made her husband fire her. She got fired because she was good looking.

o.o that's not fair! :((

Yes, I've seen questions here that imply beauty inside and outside can't exist in same person, which is untrue.

It has to do with her personality and attitude. If both good, then I would simply be envious. If her looks got her a promotion over others more competent, then I could see some prejudice there.

yes, many people say horrible things about beautiful women simply out of insecurity and/or jealousy.

Yes I happen to think so.... people think if you are beautiful that you may not be a nice person, they are jealous that you get a lot of attention... but there is such a thing as a beautiful person inside and out.

A little, perhaps, by those who are envious of their good looks -- but there are always people like that.

Have you heard of the "Beautiful People Syndrome"? It suggests people who are good looking, or handsome, or who dress well, or who exude personality will always get preferential treatment. In a crowded bar it is always the beautiful people who will be served first.

And this is more than just a theory, I know from experience it is a fact. When I go to a busy counter it takes me so l-o-o-o-n-g to get served.

I find this very hard to believe. Even if you are 2 headed, have a split personality and are bald, you still have an incredible soul and personality. Wisdom makes you smile when some would whisper. Talent makes you know, you ran the best race you could, and your humor allows everyone to laugh and feel at when they are anxious and misunderstood. Beauty may be in the eyes of the beholder, but when you are Dozy/Dodgy, you can hold yourself and know, it's o.k. to be beautiful from the inside out and the outside in. :)

Everyone judges. However, I do not think that "beautiful women" are being prejudiced against them due to their perceived beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

If there is any prejudice going on, it falls squarely onto the person making the judgement. It says nothing about the woman they think is beautiful.

Hubster certainly thinks I am beautiful, but others may not. I have never experienced a negativity like you are suggesting. Then again, who is going to tell a giant talking eagle they have to wait or cannot have something?

Yep. I've been told that I'm beautiful and I have problems with other woman all the time cause they get mad at the way my hair looks, the fact that I don't wear alot of makeup(I wear chapstick, mascara and eyeliner) and the clothes I wear and my figure and I am smart too. It really is hard for woman who don't take care of their bodies or skin or hair to be around me cause it just bugs them and I don't much care for the prejudicial comments you know?!!!!
