You contact the maintenance supervisor and ask them for help in resolving the issue. This is done on a severity based schedule. The more severe the issue is, the speedier it is dealt with. An issue of overflowing toilets in the rest room in a food processing facility would be dealt with MUCH faster than a broken pencil sharpener. Not all problems are severe enough to need solving immediately. This is part of the supervisors job to decide which is more important and which is less important.
