Where can a convicted felon find work in Florida? I am female (age 54) with an 8-year-old conviction for grand theft

First off I'm so sorry you have to overpay your dept to society. My sister has been going threw the same thing. Buy cleaning supplys and make flyers offering to clean house for cheap. Before you know it you'll have to hire help. It is the cheapest business to start. Good luck.

Dear quest4quest: Thanks 4 the tip. My Network Pinellas counselor suggested I try to start my own business also. Good luck to your sister.

Finding work as a convicted felon is never easy, and it won't be any easier given your age. You can try to talk to the major retailers in your area and see if they can give you a job. You could also get a job at grocery stores.

If your record is otherwise clean, see about getting it expunged. Then it's as if it never happened. Society needs to get more active in providing job opportunities for those with convictions. How can we expect people to be rehabilitated if they can't earn a living wage?
