How do I choose the right paint color for my living room?

South facing windows in room and kitchen has grey Quartz countertops and grey subway with metal brass, steel, and bronze inserts in back splash. Wide entry way into the LR from kitchen. Kitchen walls are soft grey w/maroon below chair rail. Oak trim throughout. Plus LR has soft brown/beige brick faced gas fireplace. Living room is odd L-shape (very hard to stage) and was thinking of doing a muted two-tone horizontal stripe on two walls? Our current furniture is solid brown w/one chair subtle floral pattern on brown background.

find colors that go with the colors you already have in their and then find what you want the color to say in the room warm and inviting, modern, elegant, so on and so on until you find the one that is the best. If you have problems with finding a color you can buy some cheep poster board and a sample of the paint colors you like and paint the poster board with the pant and sometimes seeing the color in a larger scale in the room can help you make up your mind. hope this helps. :)

A turquoise shade would brighten things up.

i think the light orange or light purple will be suitable. Or use some wall paper instead of paint.

I'd suggest a neutral/bright color such as popcorn. :)

You may not want to use stripes bc of all the different tones, woods, and colors already in your rooms which may be too many things going on.I would suggest staying in the same color range of the kit and entry of pale grey blues. You could use a little of the burgundy as accents in the LR and entry along with the metals to add a little light and continuity throughout.Enjoy it.

Your question was interesting to me because I'm getting ready to renovate my home. Your fireplace is the focal point of your LR. Follow the colors on your fireplace to do the rest of the room. Maybe a lighter or darker shade of the colors on your fireplace. That would keep the room looking clean and elegant. Also, try to change the wood trim around the room (if any) to white. Makes the room/house look and feel very elegant. Best wishes!!!

The shape of room is very interesting. Light blue will be fine in combination of the color of counter top. This color will also be fine with the furniture color.
