The ancient civilization which planned to stubbornly remain a community, instead of repopulate the earth. Even before Israel or Ishmael was formed. Even before the ancient meteor shower at the dead sea in which Lot's family barely escaped. Minus the Mrs.'s. Well one day they woke up and realized that everyone had a different language. That's when profanity was born because they all said "Oh ship" in 500 languages
nimrod.. a descendant of ham.. who is believed to have gone south and was the father of the african geography of people.
sidebar: read about ham and find one more very interesting tid bit about what action caused what result and has since been carried out for all time. if one looks close and thinks.. they will "see" an outcome that now makes sense.
The Bible doesn't say who built it. The Tower of Babel was built by the descendants of Noah to prevent the people from scattering. This was done in defiance of God's commandment. The Tower symbolized their own efforts to settle a land rather than to fill the earth as was God's command.
Nimrod;started building it, but it was a Utter Failure. It was in this valley that a group decided to rebel against God. How so? Well, God had expressed his purpose when he commanded the first human couple to " be fruitful and become many and fill the earth." (Genesis 1:28). This was repeated to Noah and his Sons after the Flood. God instructed them; " As for you men, be fruitful and become many, make the earth swarm with you and become many on it." ( Genesis 9:7). In opposition to God's direction, the people built a city so they they would not " be scattered over all the surface of the earth." These people also began to build a tower with the purpose of making " a celebrated name" for themselves. But contrary to their expectations, they did not complete construction of the tower. The Bible record shows that God confused their language do that they could not understand one another. "Accordingly". Says the inspired account , " Come, let us go down and give them different languages, so that they won't understand each other's words!" So, in they way, God scattered them all over the earth; and that ended the building of the city. That is why the city was called Babel [meaning "confusion"] because it was there that Jehovah confused them by giving them many languages, thus widely scattering them across the face of the earth," ( Genesis 11:7-9) Living Bible. The complete failure of this venture is highlighted by the fact that the names of the builders never became " celebrated" or well known. Actually, their names are unknown and have been erased from human history. But what about Nimrod, Noah's great-grandson? Was he not the leader of this rebellion against God Is not his name well-known?
