House is on vacation, due back in September after Labor Day, so nothing is happening. One by one, House Republicans are coming forward to say they'd be interested in citizenship via a step-by-step process, even if it is done through a series of bills. The latest is Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.). All the talk (and its just that) is on talk-radio; the reps are coming out in Favor of doing at least something on immigration reform in addition to fence-building. This means they will eventually hold a joint compromise resolution and the Senate will win; it looks like immigration reform is a go for the late fall, unless there is a concerted effort on the Tea Party and anti-immigration types to keep anything from being enacted.
