Well look at you! You just need some incentive to start don't you? Your profile pic shows that you are good looking, but you don't feel good about yourself, or you wouldn't have asked that question. So get up and start anything to get your self moving. I have found that is actually the hardest part - starting. You need to make a life change now before it is too late. You will only get a bigger gut and feel worse about yourself. Talk yourself into moving more and eating less. The payoff is priceless! Come on You Can Do It! I will be rooting for you!

Well I can't tell you anything you haven't heard before. Healthy eating and exercise, especially cardio exercise to burn the fat around the middle and some abdominal strengthening exercises. This is a very good article: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/the-truth-about-belly-fat

Eating healthy, constant exercise, and overall weight loss is the best way. If you drink alcohol, then its also time to cut down on those extra carbs you dont need.

As above. And healthy diet means no carbs, just protiens, veggies, etc. Snack on nuts or veggies or fruit. Handle any cravings with taking some Vitamin C.

your a man. youve lived 41 years so you should be a man and just do a lot of weight lifting and push ups. dont be a wuss and start dieting. maybe even just eat meat.

Lifting weights won't help burn off a gut in the short term. Lifting weights builds muscle, but doesn't necessarily burn much fat. Over the long term, having more muscle means you burn more calories even at rest, which helps with maintenance. But to get rid of the gut, you have to do cardio.

Agreed with the above answers, a healthier diet and more exercise is the best way to lose that extra bit of weight. Also like the other said, cutting out alcohol (at least Sunday-Thursday) will help cut down your calorie intake. If you feel like you won't be motivated to do this, try and find a buddy to do it with you, you guys can keep each other motivated and on track. Best of luck!!

Losing your gut means burning off fat. To do that, you first need to increase the amount of cardio exercise that you do. Second, you need to cut way back on simple carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates include sugar, alcohol, white bread, refined flour, etc. You can still eat complex carbohydrates. The difference is that simple carbohydrates spike your blood sugar level, while complex carbohydrates do not.

If you really want to go hardcore, you can switch to the Atkins diet for a few months, which basically means eating ZERO carbohydrates but plenty of protein and a reasonable amount of fat. Your body will then naturally start burning fat for energy. However, do your research and ideally consult your doctor before doing Atkins. It is not something that you should do over the longer term. Also, I would not recommend doing Atkins at the same time that you are just starting a program of cardio exercise, because you will feel very low energy.
