How do you find the answer to the equation - 7/8= 2/3+n?

Algebra one I failed it last year because of equations and I still have yet to find a way to get Equations to click in my mind.

The value of n is -37. To get this, we need to simplify the equation first. - 7/8= 2/3+n multiply 3 on both sides to get -21/8 = 2 +n and then multiply 8 on both sides to have -21 = 16 + n. After that, subtract 16 on both sides to have -21-16 = 16-16+n, which is n = -37.
