Are Gatorade chews a good idea before a 5k race

I'm running in my first high school cross country race tomoro and I heard about these Gatorade chews. I was wondering if these will help me or just give me energy then make me crash.

buddy nothing from gatorade is good. now i know most people hate oatmeal but honestly that works the best. you can make it taste better by adding sugar, berries or milk. if not then eggs and chicken are rumored to help give energy. those "energy" bars are basically oats stuck together with sugar and caffeine. anyone can make that.

If you were to use them at all, I'd say use them after - not during and not before. I'm a cross-country runner, too. As long as you've had plenty of water and you're good on nutrition you really should need anything for a 5k.
