take all of my advice. I am a freshman now:
1.) first day outfit.NO DRESSES OR SKIRTS! I was the only one and it was awfull. Just wear jean shorts and a hollister tank.
2.) pick your lunch table wisely. I didn't and my whole year was filled with mean girls and drama
3.) mean girls are there just like the movies but its only in 6th grade. Then everyone matures and becomes nice so be careful and don't gossip.
4.) do not date in 6th grade I don't have to tell u that. Guys are not mentally ready for a relationship.
6.) be a social butterfly. Don't let people know your shy. Say "hey my name is____, what school did you come from?". Or "hey I love your shirt where did you get it". This will help your life.
7.) do not sign up for any broadcasted activities. Everyone will see it. I did a dance competition-worst decision ever
8.)have some people over or have a sleepover. Be the center of their plans.
9.) you will get involved with drama do not tell your mother or cry in your pillow because it is stupid. Girls would say,"it's ruining our reputation that your sitting with us". I started crying and instead of walking home I called my mom to come pick me up. Don't let it get to you.

Be yourself and don't use the bathroom when switching classes.

@Supermode, When your a 6th grader or a freshman in the bathroom at those times you get so much crap. That's the reason why I put that there.

Just be yourself. Don't try to be a ghost, that never works out. (i speak from experience lol) Also don't try to be a social freak. Find some of your friends that went to your elementary (if you have any) and basically have a group of people that you hang out with. That seems to be the best way to blend in.

Don't worry, at first it's the most dramatic event ever. Remember it's nothing like on tv.

It's really not all that bad. In middle school, you'll get peer-pressured to do things you don't want to do, but just stick to being yourself. However, middle school also gives you a chance to make new friends, and these friends will be easier to make because you'll have similar interests! Just remember to consider all electives, and which one will be the most fun for you. Middle school is great, and if you don't like a teacher, you don't have to be with them all day! It's really fun! :)

Try finding a group of other kids in the beginning of the year (that are maybe in a lot of your classes or have something in common with you) because you usually end up staying together for the entire year. Don't push too hard to fit in. Be yourself to get real friends. And also, don't overreact to everything or overthink situations. It doesn't help anything. Try to overcome your shyness! You'll make more friends :) Good luck! You'll be just fine.

Okay I went to a school with people who were extremely rude all the time, and extremely judgmental. My advice- if you're schools anything like mine was- try your best not to care about what people think. And try your best not to gossip. The people you gossip with are most like gossiping behind your back.
