My period was a week late, I had pregnancy symptoms, but now blood just poured out of me literally like pee or water would. is this normal?

My boyfriend and I have been trying to get pregnant and we finally thought we had it. I was having symptoms and everything. I havent had a chance to take a pregnancy test yet, and I was going to take one today but blood just poured out of me like I was peeing or something. It came out of my vagina, not where pee would come out of so I know I wasnt peeing blood. Should I still take the pregnancy test just in case? Im having cramps now, too. I'm really scared, is this normal for a period or even pregnancy?

Stop trying to get prego until you 1. can afford it. 2. are mature enough to take care of it. and 3. know enough to talk to a Dr about it.

Um 1. We definitely can afford it. 2. I am 22, he is 25. We are definitely mature enough to take care of our own kid. and 3. I called my doctor today to schedule an appointment.

Periods are strange. Yes technically your period stopping is a sign of pregnancy. But sometimes it can be a warning that somethings wrong. It can be another change, like your diet or medications. And some woman can be pregnant yet still bleed.

The blood that you had could be due to spotting, which occurs at least 6-12 days after conception has occurred. However, spotting is light and only shows for about 2 days, after which it clears. If you have had pregnancy symptoms, it would be good to consult a doctor or get a home pregnancy kit to test your status.
