Well seeing as I had to read your question, I would say pretty important. The world population is becoming more tech savvy and is relying on emails and texts. You have to read to communicate in the world today.
I've found it to be highly overrated. A ploy to influence the hearts & minds of our children. Thankfully our government had the insight to see the evils of reading & writing and got to work immediately. They have been highly successful with all of their projects, & I for 1 totally agree. No stupid child left behind, we'll wait for little Johnnie to movie on. The government reads for us. If you need to know they'll tell you what the deal is, they're from the government & here to help
Well, think about this; if you are interested in learning any language, reading boosts your vocabulary. As you boost your vocabulary, you get better at speaking a language, not only English. For example, "Me encanta leer m?s que otras personas". To even be able to say that, and for you to even remotely understand what I am saying, you have to read it. So if you are reading this and wondering why reading is important, I believe you already in some way understand why.
Reading is an important requirement needed for gaining wisdom and knowledge. It helps us develop learning skills. Reading is also necessary to function in every day life and we also enjoy reading books.
