is jesus or muhammad the last prophet?

at first i respect all religions and to be clear im not attacking anyone
muslism says that the last prophet is muhammad. but in the bible did not say anything. jesus is the last prophet because he said: i will return on judgement day. in quraan they did not say that, jesus made miracles by healing people, he is the son of god, muslims do not admit that.
please if you are not a believer, do not comment. thank you

Like Christians have been erasing their atrocities from history books for centuries?

It is naive and uninformed to think the Crusades were solely about Muslim expansion.
Report as
No crow, I am not. The expansion of all the christian nations involved conversion to christianity, they were told they converted or suffer death. I lived on the island of Guam and that is why they are Catholic, and why they speak a "mostly" spanish native language. All of S America was forced in the same manner.
Report as
The Bible also says to kill people of other faiths. So you could say Muhammed is bad, but christianity is just as bad.
Report as
Christianity was persecuted from day one. Jesus Christ was tortured on a cross. His followers were exiled from their homelands. Martyred by the hundreds. Christians have been persecuted for two thousand years, even today believers are martyred. Of course, there have been a few people throughout the ages who have misrepresented Christianity and caused great suffering, but if anyone were to study the words of Christ, as they appear in the Holy Bible, they will quickly realize that Christ is not to blame, as He teaches a message of love and peace.
Report as
Christianity is persecuted, so is Islam, so is Hinduism, so is Paganism, so are atheists. And your point?

Christianity was spread by use of the sword, bottom line, spain, england, portugal, and france (they all were forced by Rome) all spread the "word" by use of the sword, "convert or die". That is why 2/3 of the world is christian.
Report as
I was going to mention Rome, but didn't. Don't get me started either. I think it will suffice to say that Rome holds the hearts of many a Christian... But the church itself is the /prostitute/ of Babylon mentioned in Revelation.

Report as
Are you talking about my reference to Rome?
Report as
There are many who hold to that view.

Actually, it can be traced back to as early as the late 1400's, during the time of the Protestant reformation. It is a view held by both Martin Luther and John Calvin, for example.

The JW were formed in the early 1930's, if I'm not mistaken.
Report as
Yes and no, CT Russell started the Bible Students movement in the 1880's which is where the JW's came from, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (JW's) still hold the copy right to the name International Bible Students Asso. They took on the name Jehovah's Witnesses in the late 20's or early 30's, the change in doctrine caused a schism which split the bible students and JW's from the original bible students. They are still around in different forms like the Dawn Bible students and such. You can read about them and the history of CT Russell here:

On your comment about the 1400's The JW's believe that they are christianity, and christendom (all the rest of christian believing people) is the root of all false biblical belief, not just Catholics or orthodox. They refer to them as Babylon the Great, mentioned in Revelations.
Report as
Are you a JW?

no, i was raised jw, but am atheist
Report as
Ah, okay. :-)

Well, I'm not really to concerned with what JW believe. I know they deny the trinity. I also know they deny the crucifixion, and they deny the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ.

That is enough for me. I think there's many good christians within the church, however I hold the church itself as a false-church.

The Jewish people and the Muslim people believe Jesus was a prophet, but Christians believe Jesus was the son of God who died for our sins. So I guess it depends what your base belief is. Some day we will all find out, but until then I would say either way you believe, Jesus was the greatest man we've ever know since he gave his life willingly for LOVE. Love of his fellow man. I don't know anyone else in mans history that did that.

Report as
Actually the Jews call him a false prophet and a liar. He is not respected in the Jewish faith at all.

It's interesting, that if Jesus would have brought a message to the Jewish people to come together and revolt against the Romans, the Jewish people would possibly accepted him as there messiah. But since he came to preach love they rejected him.

If you actually read the Gospels it was hardly a message of love.

The Jews rejected "Jesus" because he did not fulfill any of the Messianic prophecies.

According to Muslims ... Muhammad (PBUH) is the last prophet . The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. He was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel , Muhammad (PBUH) was sent to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.

Muslims do believe that Jesus (PBUH) will return before the hour , but not as a new prophet ..., Muslims don't believe that Jesus (PBUH) was crucified nor that he was created for that matter , rather , God protected Jesus (PBUH) and raised him to Himself . There was no original sin , God forgave Adam .Humanity isn't guilty for the sin which Adam committed by eating from the tree he was forbidden . We are not wicked worthless sinners because we are humans . Everyone is responsible for what he does .And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Islam came to restore the original message which is that your God is One with no partner or son . God didn't sacrifice Himself to Himself to remove the curse He put on Humans because they are humans , God has honored mankind and preferred them over much of what He has created .

Jesus was sent only to the Jewish people originally. But since they didn't accept him Jesus opened his message to all mankind. You say that Muhammad brought good tidings, I guess you can look at killing thousands of people as good tidings. I would also like to remind you that Muslim people do believe in the same God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob which is the Old Testament for Christians and part of the Torah for Jewish people.

Seriously !! ? What about giving me a bit of what you are smoking !?

The early Muslims had been driven out of their homes, tortured and turned out into the desert to starve. After finally, relocating in Medina, verses came in Quran instructing them to make hajj (pilgrimage) back to Makkah. Finding their way blocked and after several years of making agreements and treaties that the others continually broke, the Muslims were at last, told they could now fight in combat against the tyrants who had so horribly mistreated and abused them in the past. And when God gave the Muslims the power they returned to Mecca and GUESS what ! When Makkah surrendered to him and he conquest it, he did not revenge from those who had ill-treated him. Yet he addressed them saying: "What do you think I am going to do to you? They replied", All Good, you are a noble brother and a noble nephew!" He, "May Allah?s peace & blessings be upon him", said "Go" you are released! No sin on you today, May God forgives me and you". If the Messenger of Allah were rude & hard-hearted as some orientalists accuse him with, the first thing after the conquest of Makkah would have been severe retaliation from those who ill-treated him.
But that didn't happen !

And how told you that what we have have actually been said by Jesus (PBUH) , we don't have the original Bible , what we have is copies from copies and those who translated then are unknown , and the Bible have been edited many times through history by the CHURCH , and in fact , none of the NT books are attributed to Jesus (PBUH) , rather they are written by Saul and some of his followers ... and the Book of Revelation is an unreliable book. Early Christians and elders of the Church - Marcion, Caius of Rome, Dionysius of Alexandria, Amphilocius of Iconium, Gregory of Nazianzus, Cyril of Jerusalem, Synod of Laodicea in 360 CE - disputed it. Also Martin Luther ... let alone that we actually don't know who wrote the Bible , it is a hearsay !

I meant that it wasn't good tidings. How can killing thousands be good tidings. I guess your not really reading what I posted. And from your references you really don't know the history of the books we are talking about and want to slam the Christian bible. but lets remember that mans hand is all religions and the search fir truth is up to each and everyone of us.
Report as
Yes yes of course , i am ignorant and you are Masters in theology ... I searched much more than what you think ... Whatever ...
Report as
gallego, reng is most correct, the muslim people for most of their history have been a peaceful people, only went to war when needed. You are judging them on what you see today with the extremists, that is not main stream Islam. When the jews were ran out of Israel it was the Muslims that welcomed them, in Turkey (Ottoman empire). It was not the Christian empires, it was the Islamic, and they were not required to convert, they were free to continue their jewish worship as they had in a new land. And that is History! It was only the Christians that forced religion on peoples around the world. Even in Iran, today there are still Zoroastrian free to worship Ahura Mazda as they did thousands of years ago, LONG before christinity was even thought of.

Exactly- not a one verse mentioning Jesus. Again- the Jews, who wrote those passages, REJECT Jesus as Messiah. You Christians CLAIM Jesus was the Messiah, yet none of those verses talk about Jesus. They simply mention the Messiah.

In fact, PAUL never mentioned Jesus. He just referred to Chrestus (The Christ), which was a title not a name. The Gospels, which were significantly later, were the first to talk about "Jesus" and invent his backstory (or should I say borrow). Funny how the one that lived closer to the time period in question never mentioned "Jesus".

To be the *last* prophet one first needs to be a prophet at all. Neither Jesus nor Muhammad were prophets of God. They preached their own teachings, but were not sent by God. The last true prophet, who was sent by God, was Malachi. There were no, nor will there ever be, prophets after Malachi. God does not use the method of direct revelation any more.

Christians believe Jesus is more than a prophet, in that He is God. For Christians it is impossible to believe in Muhammad as a prophet. If we do, then we have to deny the Bible. In many ways Muhammad contradicted the Bible after all. That the Bible is reliable is certain. Jesus came and died for the sins of mankind. On the third day He rose again, which made clear that Satan had been conquered. Jesus made it possible for man to return to God. This was the task that Jesus came to do.
All the work of the prophets and Jesus was accomplished there on the cross
Six hundred years later, Muhammad comes to tell that everything's actually different. This makes it impossible for Christians to acknowledge Muhammad as a prophet.
Muhammad didn't perform miracles, did not speak directly to God, and at first thought that his revelation was an attack from an evil power. Add these things to the fact that Muhammad's message is contrary to the Bible and it is clear why Christians can not and will not accept Muhammad as a prophet.

The three persons are distinct yet coexist in unity, and are co-equal, co-eternal and con-substantial . But " light, heat and fire " are none of these things , however that is not our topic ... believe what you want .. good for you ...

im just telling you like what is god i did not tell you that the sun last

Yes! Best analogy of the trinity ever is fire!

God the Father is the Fire.
Jesus Christ is the Light which reveals the Father.
The Holy Spirit is the Heat which we experience.

Thank you kouseye! And thank God for making this known to you and you sharing it here where I can see! :-D

Perfect.

In revelation 4:8 we see the trinity expressed as

"Each of the four living creatures had six wings; they were covered with eyes around and inside. Day and night they never stop, saying:

Holy, holy, holy, <----
Lord God, the Almighty,
who was, who is, and who is coming.

The trinity in mathematics is not 1+1+1=3
It is 1x1x1=1

@ Exnihilonihilfit

I wonder how did you see the trinity in this ... ?!

There is no mention of Jesus (pbuh) or the HS in it , let alone that Revelation is unreliable book ...
===
The 3 parts of trinity are distinct yet one being which means 1+1+1=1 even if you dislike it ,

However , I don't know why are discussing it ... except if you are speaking with kouseyes ...

Okay, The Prophet (PBUH) said, " By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer." It was asked, "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, " One whose neighbour does not feel safe from his evil" .

So the prophet was speaking about a trinity ?! it is just common to repeat the words more than one time so the listener pay attention or to affirm the meaning and express it's importance ...
Report as
I get nothing from that. Sorry!
Report as
No problem , it looks that it is irrelevant ...
Report as
Probably in the case of the scripture you posted it is irrelevant. But I see meaning in that the scripture I posted says Holy Holy Holy. Holy Father, Holy Son, Holy Spirit.

I understand that you don't see this, but for me there is meaning in one but not the other. :-)

As you know, Holy Scripture is a living word, and it speaks to our hearts in a way that is unique in some cases and universal in others. But in all cases it has one meaning and one purpose which is revelation.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last and final messenger.
Jesus is still alive and will return. He is not God nor the son of God.
The Bible itself (the accurate one, which doesn't exist anymore) had foretold the coming of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Jesus himself believed in Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and so did the Christian at that time who believed in the accurate Bible.
