How do you find out what scholarships are applicable to you while applying at colleges?

Report as

Start with the school you wish to attend. Ask an admissions adviser if your major has any scholarships you can apply for. Every school and program is different, even within the schools themselves. I work with three different programs at Nova Southeastern University in Tampa, FL. And some of the programs have scholarships available, and some don't. Next, ask your financial aid advisor if they have any scholarships you can apply for. Then go outside of your school to different scholarships search engine websites, and select the categories you may qualify for. Many scholarships are designed to support people of specific demographics and or majors, especially minority students like black, female, immigrant, hispanic, single mom, senior citizen, etc.. Of course you almost always have to meet a certain academic standard. But the standards vary from scholarship to scholarship. There's tons of money out there for you to apply for, but you have to do the footwork. Often times all you have to do is write an essay. So, get busy.
Good luck,
