Honestly the truth is most people fear public speaking more than death. So tell yourself that you are not the only one with this problem. Then face it squarely by joining your local Toastmasters group as someone else suggested. I used to puke at the thought of public speaking but after a few rounds with them I not only do it well but people don't even know I am nervous anymore, Nervous is normal.
first start speaking in the language which is more comfortable for you, preferably mother tongue. also in the initial stages, talk the subject which is very familiar for you so that it will increase ur confidence level.
You have to begin doing what you are afraid of. The more you speak in front of people the easier it becomes. You can start by speaking in front on friends. If you have a friend in the audience, look at that person in the beginning. Don't focus on the size of the group. Remember you have something important to say

Don't limit yourself to the endless possibilities that are out there. Public speaking can tremendously help you with almost every aspect of your life; a better career, better relationships, being more happy and satisfied with your life.
The first step to feeling comfortable speaking in public is to have the self confidence. Self confidence is not an easy thing to find, but it is not impossible... no where close to impossible actually.
I myself use to be afraid of speaking in public and now it is my career. I started with going through vocal lessons and finding a life coach to help me. I learned so many valuable things and changed my life completely for the better. If you need any help finding vocal lessons or a life coach, please let me know. I have helped a lot of people find connections appropriate for their needs.

Be confident, ask yourself which ways can i go up there and be more like myself and feel more confident and knowledgeable? Dont think about whose watching you. Just act like your at a party and your talking about your food labels or whatever your giving a speech on. Be yourself, be confident, eat something energizing. It doesn't matter what others think, as long as you can give the speech in the way that best fits your personal speaking style. Public speaking is hard because people are afraid of what others think. So dont care about what others think. Its not that intimidating. It just feels that way because its in the air. Do yourself a favor and do it the way you want. Be confident.
