What dance/party songs were popular in the 60's? I know LOTS of 60's songs and they're great, but I don't find them as dancing songs

All the great bands like the Beatles, the Who, Kinks, Jimmy Hendrix don't seem like dance music. What were the people who went to parties in the mid-late 60's dancing to?

The Twist by Chubby Checker, Connie Francis' V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N", "Do You Love Me" by The Contours, " Mr. Postman by The Marvellettes, and pretty much anything by Elvis
