Is it still worth it to get a degree in Information Technology?

I've been looking at the different certifications you can get like from Cisco and they're easy enough and cheaper. Faster to.

I've also looked into Straighter Line (basically an online community college) which then would transfer me to one of their partnered university's like Western Governors University. Cheap enough. I know at least a degree is forever (sort of) in computers though I'm not so sure.

Yes, degree in IT is always better than having certification in the same. degree level knowledge has its own value. You should choose degree course.

Well a lot of other websites I found say otherwise, or at least "it depends" I know TechRepublic said that.

Here lies the problem. You have to look at the demand. Like electrician, in my town there is 35 electricians needed. You can't really go by what the school says, cause they want your money. That's one thing to look at when you are searching for career.
