I have a spark plug that has been in my van for 2 years why does it look new?

there is no sign of dirt, rust, or carbon, or any kind of burn, even the wire head is perfectly clean, looks as if it just came out of the box. i do not have any kind of special engine and it is functioning properly

It is because the plug is insulated with a central electrode forming a grounded terminal on the outside of the spark. This prevents it from getting rusted. It doesn't rust also because it is put inside the cylinder head of an internal engine and is therefore not exposed to dust.

Or that particular cylinder isn't firing, which means it's never had to work
